Data Protection and the use of Cookies

Introduction:

Lincolnshire CVS (“we”, “us”, “Lincolnshire CVS” or “our”) is committed to protecting and respecting your privacy. We comply with all aspects of the current UK and European Data Protection Legislation, specifically Data Protection Principles 1-8: Personal Data is processed fairly and lawfully; will only be used for specified lawful purposes; is adequate, relevant and not excessive; is necessary and up to date; is kept for no longer than is necessary; is processed in accordance with the rights of “data subjects”; appropriate measures are in place to ensure it is not processed unlawfully or without authorisation; data is not transferred to a territory outside the “European Economic Area”.

Data Controller:

The Data Controller is the Personnel Officer, Lincolnshire CVS. On written request from a “data subject” s/he will supply details of what data is held, why it is held and to whom it may be disclosed. S/he can also supply a copy of the relevant Data Record.

Information we may collect from you:

We may collect and process the following data about you:

  • Information that you provide by filling in forms on our site www.lincolnshirecvs.org.uk or our eventbrite (training) page.
  • Information or material that you post or contribute to our site e.g. through our blog.
  • If you contact us, we may keep a record of that correspondence.
  • We may also ask you to complete surveys that we use for research purposes, although you do not have to respond to them.
  • Details of your visits to our site including, but not limited to, traffic data, location data, weblogs and other communication data.

IP addresses and cookies

We may collect information about your computer, including where available your IP address, operating system and browser type, for system administration. This is statistical data about our users’ browsing actions and patterns and does not identify any individual. For the same reason, we may obtain information about your general internet usage by using a cookie file which is stored on the hard drive of your computer. Cookies contain information that is transferred to your computer’s hard drive. This enables us as an organisation to provide you with more information on the topics which are most useful to you as an individual or community group. Safeguards: 

Electronic data is held in a password-protected database. Manual data is held in files in a locked office. Lincolnshire CVS adheres to the “Fair Data Code” whereby the “data subject” will not be misled or deceived in any way. Subjects have a right to know what data is held, for what purpose, and any other information pertinent to the fair processing of data.
