LCVS Guiding Lights

LCVS Guiding Lights project sets out to train a team of mentors to support individuals who have experienced mental ill health or distress to take their first steps into volunteering and access all the associated benefits.

Volunteering can boost self esteem, raise confidence, increase skills, reduce isolation, enhance well being and be a springboard to employment.

The Guiding Lights project has been funded with £15,000 from Lincolnshire’s Managed Care Network Mental Health Promotion Fund.

The need for it was originally highlighted as an outcome of the Volunteering for Stronger Communities project 2013, which led to Volunteer Mentoring projects successfully delivered by LCVS in Boston and Grantham, 2013 to 2015.

LCVS is also one of 24 partners delivering the Greater Lincolnshire MOVE project – helping unemployed people back into work via volunteering.
