Do you have a passion for the environment, the outdoors or your local community? The local Boston RiverCare group is inviting volunteers along to their next river cleans on:

Saturday 19th March, 10 am – 12 noon

Meeting at Windsor Bank South cul de sac, Boston, PE21 6DN

We will be litter picking the riverbank of the tidal Haven.  It will be low tide, but it can be quite wet, so it is recommended you wear wellingtons or boots and suitable clothing.

Saturday 26th March, 10 am – 12 noon

Meeting at the Rowing Club, Carlton Road, Boston, PE21 8LL.

We will be litter picking the banks of the River Witham covering both directions from the Rowing Club.

Formed and run by volunteers, this group tackles litter pollution which would otherwise persist in the environment, damaging wildlife and perhaps eventually ending up in the ocean. By looking after these stretches of river in Boston, they are able to prevent this plastic pollution from having a negative impact on river and marine wildlife and helping to create a cleaner river for the local community to enjoy.

The RiverCare and BeachCare programme is delivered by Keep Britain Tidy in partnership with Anglian Water and with the aim of supporting local community groups who want to protect and enhance their local waterways and beaches.

Across the whole Anglian Water region there are over 1,000 regular RiverCare and BeachCare volunteers.

Jackie Lane, Project Assistant, Lincolnshire Community and Voluntary Service, said: “So, bring your boots and come along to one of our events.  We provide all equipment and refreshments are available. We can’t promise good weather, but we promise a warm welcome.  If you would like to attend either of our litter picks (or both!), please contact Jackie (email: to book on.”
