In the run up to Make a Difference Day 2019, we are asking you to share your stories of how your deeds or actions improve the lives of others in your community.

Make a Difference Day started in 1992 in America but has become an unofficial celebration across the world of all the people who go out of their way to give service to their communities.

This can include anything from just a small good deed which makes one person smile to a grand gesture that improves the situation for many people.

Some of the activities which have been performed on this day include painting the computer room of a local school, cleaning out the animal cages of a zoo, building community playgrounds, and cleaning parks.

Many volunteers get together to raise funds for all kinds of charities.

This year Make a Difference Day will be celebrated on October 26, so if you have plans to mark the occasion, or have a story to share about how someone else has really made a difference to you, let us know.

And if you are looking for ways you can make a difference in your community, talk to Lincolnshire Community and Voluntary Service about the volunteering opportunities available in your community.
