Diabetes sufferers and their carers in South Holland are being invited to join two new peer support groups being set up Diabetes UK.

The groups will hold regular informal meetings in Long Sutton and Spalding with the view of creating a powerful network of care and support across the district.

The first meeting of the Spalding group will be on Friday, November 15, at 6pm at Tonic Health, Broadgate House, Westlode Street, when the focus will be on managing medication.

Future Spalding meetings are as follows:

  • 17th January 20 – Intro to Diabetes UK Peer Groups, Meet the Members & Diabetes explored.
  • 28th February 20 – Looking after your diabetes
  • 17th April 20 – Complications
  • 5th June 20 – Enjoy Food
  • 10th July 20 – Getting Active
  • 11th September 20 – Diabetes explored
  • 6th November 20 –Life with Diabetes

The first meeting of the Long Sutton group will be on Friday, November 22, at 2pm and 6pm at Market House, Long Sutton, when the focus will be on managing your medication.

Future Long Sutton meetings will be as follows.

  • 24th January 20 – Intro to Diabetes UK Peer Groups, Meet the Members & Diabetes explored.
  • 6th March 20 – Looking after your diabetes
  • 24th April 20 – Complications
  • 12th June 20 – Enjoy Food
  • 17th July 20 – Getting Active
  • 18th September 20 – Diabetes explored
  • 13th November 20 –Life with Diabetes
