Results of the National Association of Link Worker 2023 awards
Congratulations to Stort Valley & Villages Primary Care Network for winning the employer of the year award at the National Association of Link Worker 2023 awards. Although we didn't win the award we are very proud to be nominated and to have recognition for our fantastic team. We had a great time visiting the ExCel arena in London, meeting many other amazing employers. We hope to be back next year and will continue all of our hard work.
Lincolnshire Community
and Voluntary Service (LCVS) was the
only Voluntary Sector Organisation to be
shortlisted as part of 5 high quality
finalists in the category of
Employer of the Year.
The National Association of Link Worker Awards were part of the prestigious annual Healthcare Show that took place on April 27th at the ExCeL arena in London and celebrates those employers that has shown outstanding commitment to their Social Prescribing Link Workers and communities in which they operate, which have helped transform healthcare for all.
The Awards panel was impressed by LCVS's quality of management and leadership, the ethos and the support they give to their staffs' wellbeing by encouraging learning, development and career progression, and the role that LCVS plays in developing a countywide integrated approach.
David Fannin, LCVS Chief Executive said, “We would like to congratulate Stort Valley on the excellent work they have done. It has been a real honour to be recognised in this way and to be the only voluntary sector service provider to be shortlisted. This really demonstrates the benefit the voluntary sector can have in health and social care when working alongside the Integrated Care System. The team have had a fantastic day and it is so nice to see them recognised in this way for all the hard work and commitment they put into providing an excellent service.”
Social Prescribing helps people improve their health, confidence, self-esteem and wellbeing, often at critical points in their lives when medical solutions are not necessarily the only options. LCVS’s experienced and knowledgeable team of dedicated social prescribing link workers takes referrals from GPs, mental health services, health professionals and many other caring organisations and works with them to get the best personal outcome for the participant. The results are often life changing.
The social prescribing service across Lincolnshire supports thousands of people by linking them to community groups, organisations and services to build networks of support, improve their health and wellbeing, reduce loneliness, social isolation and raise self-esteem and confidence.
