At Lincolnshire Community and Voluntary Service (LCVS) we provide Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). If your organisation needs to DBS check volunteers or staff, Lincolnshire Community and Voluntary Service can help. LCVS is a registered umbrella body for the Disclosure and Barring Service. We can assist you with the application.
What is DBS?
DBS stands for Disclosure and Barring Service. A DBS check enables employers to review your criminal record as a means of assessing your suitability for employment, particularly in roles that involve working with children or vulnerable adults. This check helps employers make informed decisions about whether you are an appropriate candidate for the position.
Standard DBS Check
This is a comprehensive examination of your criminal history that will show information regarding all previous and current convictions, cautions, reprimands, and final warnings stored in central police records. The only exceptions to this are protected convictions and cautions.
Enhanced DBS Check
This type of check involves reviewing both spent and unspent convictions, cautions, reprimands, and final warnings from central police records (excluding protected convictions and cautions), as well as relevant information from local police records that is deemed reasonably necessary for the job in question.

DBS check at the client’s location £15 (mileage charge may apply)
10% discount for more than 15 DBS checks per year for contracted organisations.
